Elderberries is creating curative communities in urban spaces ~

founded by Dottie Zold, and inspired by the works of Rudolf Steiner in the world, was amplified by the hundreds of young people and community members, many coming from the YIP initiative in Jarna Sweden, who found a value in striving for a more beautiful humanity, together.

Empowering young people to explore first hand what they wish to create in the world, enhanced by the peer to peer conversations between graduated Waldorf youth and like minded young people from the States and from around the world with friends who are experiencing houselessness, mental illness, and poverty - this is the gift that Elderberries offers - a safe space of encounter all aspects of community life and a striving with those who you just had to meet.

Out of the original circle of youth, what became the ‘core team’, we cofounded together the Have Seeds House in Mid City, Los Angeles, Urban First Aid - Art As Medicine in Hollywood, and an Elderberries Cafe in Chicago.

Showing up in our community also meant collaborating with the Poor People’s Campaign where our team took on the Art campaign, Co leader, and the Musicology, Moral Mondays, heading out to North Dakota to support the Native Americans in Standing Rock against big oil corporation interests in their water. We also founded a How We Will, Threefolding Our Cultural Revolution, gathering that worked out of the threefold commonwealth ideal brought forth by Rudolf Steiner at the end of WW1, and we made a beginning with a Street Medic initiative with our Helping Hands gatherings in the States collaborating with Anthroposophic Medicine Nurses and Doctors.

If you are interested in supporting our work and/or collaborating first hand in our emerging community life in Westville, N.J, please give a shout out.

May good become,

Dottie Zold
